Procedure Summary

Students enrolled in the first year for the academic year 2012/13 and following

  1. Students holding a B1 or higher level certificate from external accredited certification institutions, such as Trinity, University of Cambridge, etc., and who want to be exempted from attending the English course, could send the documents to the Students’ Administrative Office that will will activate the procedures for  the acknowledgement already acquired credits (5CFU).
  2. All other students will attend the course in the second semester as required by the curriculum. At the beginning of the course, they will take a placement test in order to assess the level of initial knowledge, prepared and implemented by the University Language Centre (CLA). Looking at the results of the test, students will be divided in two groups based on their level of proficiency, and they will attend the course reserved for them, which will be held by the CLA, or will be invited to attend alternative activities more consistent with their knowledge ("basic course" and "certification course"). At the end of the courses, the CLA, following verification of the minimum English language proficiency level, will prepare a statement of success in the described activities, including a list of the students who have successfully carried out such activities. The certificate will guarantee for allocating to each student the 5 CFU from the English course.
  3. Students not in possession of a B1 or higher level certificate and who, for various reasons, will not have attended English courses in the second semester could possibly attend the courses that CLA organizes in a later semester (e.g. the one for Bachelor Degree in Industrial and Biomolecular Biotechnology students in the following first semester) and obtain the 5 CFU from the English course.
