Transfers

Possible transfers

The transfer of a student can happen at any point of the course and generally allows the use of already acquired credits, especially in the case of graduation courses with a similar content. The Bachelor's Degree in Biomolecular and Industrial Biotechnologies, which belongs to the Industrial Biotechnology area, is included in the same Graduation Class (L2) of Biotechnologies for Health and retains full compatibility of contents in the first year, after which it is always possible to switch from one course to another without loss of earned credits. The transfer between an undergraduate program to a similar content one is always possible, usually with the loss of a small number of acquired credits. Finally, there is the possibility of transfers to and from the five-year one cycle graduation courses in Medicine and Surgery and that in Veterinary Medicine.

What to do

Students who wish to enrol in the degree course in Biotechnologies for Health coming from other degree programs of the University or from other universities can access the course through transfer, provided they have passed the entrance examination. In this case, the student could request to consider the previous curriculum in order to obtain the recognition of credits (CFU) acquired from already passed tests in the origin Study Course. The request for evaluation must be submitted to the Students’ Administrative Office.

The recognition of acquired credits is approved by the Study Course Didactic Committee that, after consultation with the teachers of the scientific sector to which the course/module pertains, recognises the credits acquired in scientific areas related to the institution curriculum. Credits acquired in scientific areas that do not appear in the curricula of the Graduation Course in Biotechnologies for Health can be recognised on the proposal of the Didactic Committee.

When the compatibility of already conducted educational activities is verified to obtain the credits, the Commission will provide to enrol the student to a year of study appropriate to the degree of already acquired knowledge.
