Here the most relevant information on the didactic organization after the opening of Section II, entirely dedicated to teaching in English language:
- All the 8 integrated bi-modular courses and the 2 single-module courses will be duplicated in the new Section II. Course programs will be identical in both cases; most of the time, teachers will rotate between the two sections. Optional courses will not be duplicated, but a number of them will be offered exclusively in English.
- Students who will choose Section II will use books and other educational tools in English.
- For both Sections, middle term and final exams will have written tests, as multiple choice and short open-answer questions; test contents will be the same in both languages. Usually, exam day is the same for both sections and teachers will seat on both examination bodies.
- Students who will choose Section II have to write and defend their dissertation in English.
- Students who will choose the Section II will be offered an English language course by the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo (University Language Center). The English language classes will be offered in selected dates and no CFU credits will be granted. The course is only aimed to improve student’s English language skills.
- First semester classes will start early October; class attendance is compulsory.
- When enrolling, and before classes start, students are required to communicate to the Student Office (Segreteria Studenti) their Section of choice (a special Section choice form will be provided).
- Students who plan to obtain their Bachelor degree (Laurea triennale) in October or in November are also required to attend classes from the first day; they are as well required to fill the Section choice form before classes start. Two English language tests will be delivered in October: the first test will be delivered by the University Language Center during the first two weeks of October and it is aimed to assign students to the classes of the English courses according to their language proficiency level; the second test will be delivered by the end of October within the 3 integrated courses of the first semester. This second test is aimed to help those students who have chosen Section II to confirm (or to give up) their choice. In fact, it is possible to withdraw from Section II and to enroll in section I no later than October 31st. At the end of the first semester, students have again the opportunity to withdraw from Section II (a written communication to the Segreteria Studenti is required no later than February 28th 2017).
- According to the results we have observed during past academic years, we strongly discourage the enrollment to those students who are planning to obtain their Bachelor degree in December 2016 and/or in March 2017, unless these students can commit themselves to fully attending the first semester classes of our Master.
- The Degree in Biotecnologie Mediche will be exactly the same for all the students (either attending Section I or II). But the Master Council will thoroughly certify attendance to Section II.
